We know that every potential client is going to have questions, so we\’ve provided this Frequently Asked Questions section.
Even though we have listed our most frequently asked questions, you may have some additional questions specific to your practice that may not be answered below. We invite you to ask as many questions as possible to get the maximum information needed to make your decision. We know that the benefits, services, pricing and so much more go into choosing the right company. We are confident we will fit your needs and want you to feel confident in choosing us.
WHERE WILL THE INSURANCE COMPANIES SEND THE PAYMENTS?
All checks and EOBs will be sent directly to your office or sent to a lockbox location. You keep the checks and send us scanned copies of the EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) so that we can perform effective follow-up. Medical Billing Management, LLC does not receive any payments from the insurance companies. We can access ERAs ( Electronic Remittance Advice) online from our clearinghouse.
CAN YOU HELP ME SET UP ELECTRONIC PAYMENTS?
Yes. Electronic payments are the preferred method of payment not only for physicians but also for insurance companies. If you are not already set up we will help you set up with all available insurance companies that offer EFT.
WILL YOU PROCESS AND FOLLOW-UP ON MY OLD BILLS?
We will start the billing process from the effective date of the contract. However, a mutually agreeable special arrangement can be made to handle your old and/or backlogged bills. Additional charges will apply.
WHAT DO YOUR SERVICES COSTS?
Billing services are provided on a percentage based fee. Consultation services vary upon the needs of your particular practice. You are welcome to bring us your current or quoted prices from other services and we will do our best to match or beat the competition.
IS THERE A SETUP FEE?
There is a non-refundable one-time setup fee. In order for us to process your claims effectively and efficiently, we go through a time-consuming setup process. This process includes entering all your patient data into our system, creating customized forms, and setting up your account with our clearinghouse. It is important to note that we do not charge you any hidden fee for postage, stationery, business reply mail, etc. You pay only the initial setup fee and the agreed upon rate for the collected amount.
ARE THERE ANY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS TO USE YOUR BILLING SERVICES?
No. We have and maintain the billing software needed to do your billing. If you already have a system, we can arrange to work directly with your software. Contact us for more details.
ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR ONLINE ACCESS?
Yes. When an online profile is established, we request that you give us access to those sites for appeals, demographic and insurance verification needs. This can be done by either adding your assigned account representative as a user or allowing us to set up the account and adding users as needed.
WHO WILL HAVE ACCESS TO MY INFORMATION?
Only authorized representatives will have access to your account. We feel if a person does not require access they do not need the information.
HOW CAN STAFF DIRECT PATIENTS TO BILLING FOR QUESTIONS?
We can provide your office with business cards that can be handed directly to any patient having questions regarding the amount owed on their account, setting up approved payments plans, or even with questions regarding how much a service will cost.
